On Monday 25 July 2011, C.Y. O’Connor Institute in Narrogin opened its doors to students and staff to their newly refurbished campus for the first time since it was practically destroyed by fire in early March.
The blaze occurred on March 6 and was confined to the building’s western entrance leaving an estimated damage bill to be in excess of $50,000.
While refurbishment efforts were being undertaken, there were major disruptions for staff and students, with many classes having to be taught in rented premises and many lecturers having to work from home.
